RAL-Colour

RAL-colours are the standardised colour-tones which the RAL Institute distributes today under the name 'RAL Classic'. Each colour-tone in the colour-row is assigned a four-digit number. This standardisation can be traced back to a table of 40 colour-tones, which was created in 1927 by the Federal Committee for Delivery Terms (germ. RAL = Reichs-Ausschuß für Lieferbedingungen).
The advantage of such standardisation is that only a single RAL-number and no colour sample on a specified material need be exchanged between client and distributor.

This restructuring of the RAL-colours to the four-digit system in use today occurred around 1940. Army camouflage was always recognised up until 1944 by a '7' or '8' as the first digit.

The colour patterns are rendered in two ways:
- Colour register RAL 840-HR with a matt surface.
- Colour register RAL 841-GL with a glossy surface.

On the manufacturing of the promotional products for printing of the different the promotional items and giveaway is much more popular the Pantone Matching System.

Reactive Dyes

To print textiles promotional products in the so-called "discharge process", the materials must be coloured using reactive dyes. The fibres undergo a chemical reaction in during the dyeing process. The fusing is carried out in the presence of an alkaline solution under a heat source. Although this dyeing method is popular due to the precision and clean details, it is relatively expensive.
Especially velour towels as promotional items and giveaway are dyeing in the discharge process.

Register

The precise alignment of the various printing plates in multi-colour printing is referred to as being in register. This is why there are register crosses on the colour separations (films, proofs).
If the print logo on the promotional products have more than 1 colour, it needs register crosses on the printing films of each colour to print the logo on the promotional items and giveaway exactly according the artworks.

Relief Embossing, Relief Printing

On promotional products, the printing method of relief embossing and relief printing are given on the customer's logo a three-dimensional effect on the promotional items and giveaway. The relief embossing and relief printing can be used on promotional items and giveaway with different kind of materials, especially on leather and plastic items.

Ribbed Cotton

Knitted fabric using a particular weave that creates a surface to the fabric that includes raised lines or ribs. Like most types of ribbed material, ribbed cotton can be utilized in a number of different textile promotional items and giveaway, ranging from clothing to household accessories as promotional products.

Ribbing

Rib knit distinguishes itself as an interlock with high elasticity and low material density. It is well suited for cheap, body-emphasising shirts.
1x1 ribbing (where the stitches alternate from left to right) is the most common variant. Accordingly, 2x2 ribbing features an alternation between two right and two left machine rows.
Ribbing is elastic and is often used in textile promotional products like t-shirts and polo-shirts as promotional items and giveaway for collars and sleeve borders.

Ring spun cotton

Cotton ring-spun yarns are valuable yarn. Only fibres of a particular quality and length can be processed which means that the textile promotional products will also be of a high quality.
In the first step, the individual cotton fibres combed until they are parallel and then grouped into a roving. This is stretched and spun multiple times on a ring spinning machine and processed into a fine yarn. The spinning is carried out using a runner spinning around the spindle on a ring.
Especially high quality t-shirts or polo-shirts as promotional items or giveaway are made in cotton ring-spun fabrics.

RoHS

EC Directive 2002/95/EG on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment regulates the use of dangerous materials in devices and components.
This directive, in conjunction with the application of domestic laws is referred to using the abbreviation RoHs (Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances).

Rotation Printing

Rotation printing involves the printing of continuous rolls of paper using round printing plates and printing cylinders. Rotation printing is suitable for almost all mass printing processes (books printing, offset printing, gravure printing).
Rotation printing is also a popular printing method for allover print logos on textiles promotional products which can be used as promotional items or giveaway (t-shirts, polo-shirts etc.).
