Sales Promotion

Sales promotions are part of the marketing mix. So-called sales promotions refer to limited activities which are similar to a campaign which are used to improve sales. They include distribution, sales and customers and are used to encourage purchases without actually giving a reason for a purchase. On sales promotions, mostly will be used also different promotional products, promotional items and giveaway.

Sales promotion measures are frequently used in mail order and retail trade at point of sale (POS).

Sales promotions which are aimed at end users are called consumer-targeted promotions and are carried using small stands or info counters, e.g. in a shop’s car park or in front of a shop. End users are offered special prizes, promotional items, giveaway (give-aways, give away, giveaways) special packs, coupons or loyalty discounts.

In some special sale promotions, casual employees are often trained and hired for a short period of time. This is often carried out by an agency that is specialised in such campaigns and which has access to the required casual employees as well as special work clothing, often corporate fashion. This employees are distributing as example promotional items and giveaway directly to the end customer.

Sanforized (Sanforization)

Sanforization is the processing of textiles through a shrinking process to avoid future changes of shape of the finished promotional products. The textiles are put through a specific wash cycle and shrink accordingly.
A well-known, protected and patented shrinking method is Sanfor. This process guarantees that the finished textiles as promotional items or giveaway will not shrink by more than 1% in future.

Sateen

Applied with Sateen, cloth becomes as promotional products in form of promotional items and giveaway a more steady, smooth and – dependent on the used fiber material – a very shiny surface, because of which sateen is also referred to “satin”.

Screen Printing

Screen printing is a very popular printing method for many kinds of promotional products. Screen printing is primarily used where the use of other printing processes on promotional items or giveaway is precluded by the type of substrate, kind of material or any other special requirements. Screen printing is not only quick and cost-effect, but also offers high colour and light fastness for the printing of the customer logo on the promotional items and giveaway. No other printing process offers such an array of colour effects on the promotional products on such a wide range of materials. The decisive point is that the colours must be able to be printed on the promotional items and giveaway in different compositions and variable layer thicknesses on all kinds of substrates.

In this printing process on the promotional products, a squeegee is used to apply colour to the substrate through a plastic or metal gauze sheet on a frame. To separate the areas which are to be printed from those which should remain unprinted, the screen undergoes photomechanical processing so that the gauze is only permeable on the promotional items and giveaway on the areas to which the ink should be applied. The other areas of the promotional products are sealed. Almost any kind of material can be printed using screen printing, including textiles and plastics promotional products.

Self-Liquidators

"Self-Liquidators" refers to promotional products and advertising material which pay for themselves. These are products or services which cover their own production/provision costs for the manufacturing of this kind of promotional items or giveaway, but also have a further promotional effect for other products or services.
This promotional items and giveaway are generally offered as promotional products in a high quantity and are generally intended to reduce a new customer’s inhibition threshold, helping to win new customers.

Shrinking

Shrinking is a technique in the preparation of textiles as promotional products, whereby a bedding-in process is conducted in order to avoid a change in shape later on.  
In this process, the textiles are run through a specific wash-cycle and shrunk intentionally. One well-known, trademarked and patented shrinking process is "Sanfor". This process guarantees that the textile does not shrink by more than 1%. Textile promotional items and giveaway with sanforized treatment are high quality textile promotional products. Textiles treated with this additional process in the dyeworks are referred to as being "Sanforized".

Single Jersey

The fine knit makes it flow with every movement and its fine knit makes it breathable and particularly soft on the skin. All of these positive characteristics have made single jersey the perfect material for shirts, underwear and nightwear as well as sporting and children’s clothing for all kinds of promotional products.

Slogan

A slogan (or claim) is a catchy, easy to remember phrase or sentence which communicates and sums up the advertising message of the product, company, brand, promotional items, giveaway or other promotional products in question. As in other areas of advertising, when developing and conceiving a slogan, the brand, product, party or company are analysed to determine the pertinent information that will be needed to ensure achievement of the desired advertising effect.
There are various guidelines which are observed when developing a slogan, for example the emphasis on the advantages of the product, person, company or idea. Clear, direct language and a simple, memorable phrase are the key characteristics of a slogan.
Mostly the customer logos with claims would be also printed on promotional items or giveaway for used them as promotional products for different promotional activities .

Soft Shell

Soft shell fabric is a three-layered material, which has an outer layer which consists of 93% polyester and 7% elastane, a breathable TPU membrane middle layer and a warming microfleece inner layer.
Soft shell fabrics are often used in outdoor jackets for promotional items and giveaway. This fabric is very popular for different kinds of textile promotional products.
